Why I Add Stainless Steel Accents

Most of my work features darker-toned metals, but sometimes a sculpture calls for contrast. That is where stainless steel comes in.
Adding stainless elements brings a bit of shine and movement, especially in outdoor light. It catches the sun, reflects its surroundings, and adds a sense of lightness that balances the heavier tones.
I do not use it in every piece. It has to feel right. But when I do, I love the way it brings a little excitement and keeps the eye moving. It is like punctuation in a sentence. The right detail can shift the entire tone.
