Setting Up for Sculpture Tucson

Sculpture Tucson is one of my favorite events of the year, and this weekend’s show was no exception. The energy on load-in morning was electric, with artists, assistants, and forklifts all moving around as large-scale works rolled in one by one.
There’s something special about watching a space transform from an empty field to a full-blown sculpture garden. I love seeing how each artist makes their footprint, whether it’s a quiet corner with a delicate piece or a bold, towering installation that greets visitors at the entrance.
This year, I brought a mix of new and familiar work, including a few pieces that had never been shown before. Setting up takes time, but it’s worth every moment to see the final layout come together and to connect with people in person.
If you haven’t been to Sculpture Tucson before, I hope to see you there this time. It’s a celebration of form, scale, and creativity, and it’s always a joy to be part of it.
